Congratulations to Monic Behnken, associate professor of sociology and director of the leadership studies program, for receiving the 2020 Iowa State Award for Inclusive Excellence.
Monic Behnken, associate professor of sociology and director of the Leadership Studies Program, presented “An Intersectional Perspective on Community Leadership” March 7 at the University of Iowa Women’s Summit. Behnken’s talk helped attendees recognize how their various social identities are a grounding source of strength in the context of community leadership.
As chair of the Equity Working Group of the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council, Monic Behnken, associate professor of sociology and director of the Leadership Studies Program, recently presented Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds with STEM recommendations for Iowa’s K-12 students.
