Shawn Dorius, associate professor of sociology, co-led a “Design Thinking for Policy Development” workshop for the Iowa Department of Public Health and representatives of other state agencies on Nov. 15. The workshop provided a forum to disseminate the findings of recent substance use research by Dorius and other colleagues to relevant Iowa stakeholders. Workshop participants collaborated to translate research findings into improved policies and programs to better serve Iowa families affected by substance use.
