Behnken served as National Topic Chair for Juveniles and Justice section at Academic of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting

Monic Behnken, associate professor in the Department of Sociology and director of leadership studies at Iowa State University, served as the National Topic Chair for the Juveniles and Justice section at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Annual Meeting March 26 through 30, 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Behnken also chaired a panel titled “The Role of Rapport and Decision-Making in Juvenile Justice System Outcomes” and moderated a round table titled, “How Multi-Disciplinary Scholarly Collaborations Inform Justice, Human Rights, and Activism Efforts” at the same meeting. Department of Sociology graduate student Ilma Jahic was a participant in the round table along with School of Education graduate student Kennesha Woods and School of Education assistant professor Angela Prince.
